Compagnie Sucrière de Bel Ombre (CSBO) is the Real Estate and Agribusiness arm of Rogers. The company was founded over a century ago and has largely contributed to the development of the South-West of Mauritius. Over the years, CSBO has transformed from sugarcane monoculture to a diversified portfolio of activities spanning agribusiness, leisure and real estate. CSBO is also the custodian and a promoter of the Domaine de Bel Ombre – a lush and luxurious estate offering a unique range of accommodation and leisure facilities – with VLH, the Rogers hospitality brand.

Agribusiness
CSBO owns over 7,500 acres of land, including some 1,600 acres under sugarcane cultivation. In addition, it is a leading producer of palm heart, a delicacy in Mauritian cuisine. The company’s 100% local brand of coffee, Café de Chamarel, is also a must-taste. Moreover, CSBO grows a variety of fruit and vegetables, and provides landscaping services and nursery plants to local professionals. As part of its Agribusiness activities, the company has a long history of raising game in the wild to supply fresh meat to the market.
Leisure
The Frédérica Nature Reserve is an amazing wildlife experience set in over 1,300 acres. Visitors can enjoy a host of outdoor activities in spectacular scenery. The cosy Frédérica Lodge is nestled in the heart of the reserve; it is ideal to enjoy a scenic stay or private events in a dream setting.

Real estate is a major component of the business activities of CSBO, which is the promoter of the award-winning Villas Valriche Integrated Resort Scheme. One of the main attractions of the Domaine de Bel Ombre is the Heritage Golf Club, an 18-hole championship golf course in a great location. Furthermore, new residential projects are in the pipeline in the Bel Ombre region.
