Rogers holds a 66.77 % effective share in South West Tourism Development, which holds the agricultural investments of the company. South West Tourism Development controls 8,500 arpents of land situated at Bel Ombre and Case Noyale, in the southwest of the island.

With the centralisation of sugar production in Mauritius, a large portion of the land owned by Rogers and Company Limited in Bel Ombre and Case Noyale could no longer be exploited for sugar and was therefore diversified as follows:

• Selling a portion of its land for the construction of two hotels, Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort and Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, both set amid the lush tropical grounds of Bel Ombre.
• Creating an 18-hole championship golf course spread over 83 hectares of land.
• Developing the Villas Valriche project under the Integrated Resorts Scheme in partnership with a South African consortium. The scheme comprises 288 private plantation style villas set over 200 hectares situated in a natural amphitheatre, with uninterrupted views over the championship golf course and the ocean.
• Developing eco-tourism in Bel Ombre, namely through activities including hiking and quad biking in The Valriche Nature Reserve and promoting the Chamarel Coloured Earth.
• Restoring the Château de Bel Ombre, built in the 1800s, and converting it into a restaurant.

The southwestern region is undergoing a major real estate development. Phase 1 of the project and the infrastructural works are scheduled to be completed in early 2011.
